PVR Inox has put forth a proposal for a buyback of its equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each. The company’s board of directors has scheduled a meeting for August 31 to approve the share buyback

The record date for the same is yet to be disclosed, and if approved, this would mark the first share buyback by the country’s largest multiplex operator. 

“ We wish to inform you that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company (“Board”) is scheduled to be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, inter alia, to consider and approve a proposal for buyback of the equity shares of the Company, having a face value of Rs 10/- (Indian Rupees Ten only) each, and matters incidental and ancillary thereto,”  PVR Inox said in its exchange filing. 

PVR Inox Q1 FY27 result

For Q1 FY27, PVR Inox posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 56.5 crore against a net loss of Rs 54.5 crore reported in the same quarter last year. The profitability came on the back of healthy revenue growth and expansion in operating margins.

The company’s consolidated revenue from operations for the reporting period was pegged at Rs 1,662 crore, rising 12% year-on-year from Rs 1,450 crore reported in the year-ago period. PVR INOX’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) advanced 31% to Rs 529 crore, up from Rs 404 crore reported in Q1 FY26.

PVR Inox’s stock was trading flat in Tuesday’s intraday trading session. Over the past one month, its stock has delivered a return of 15%, while over the past six months, its share price has expanded by more than 19%.
