RailTel Corporation of India has secured a work order from Western Coalfields to set up an MPLS VPN network.

According to RailTel, the company will establish the MPLS VPN network for Western Coalfields on a rental basis for a period of 60 months.

According to RailTel, the order is domestic in nature, with Western Coalfields as the sole awarding entity.

The size of the order stands at Rs 164.87 crore, inclusive of tax, as per the work order. 

RailTel-Western Coalfields deal: No related party transaction 

RailTel stated that neither its promoters nor promoter group companies hold any interest in Western Coalfields, and that the order does not fall within the ambit of related party transactions. The company also noted there was no delay in reporting the development to exchanges.
