Wipro’s newly appointed CEO Srinivas Pallia, in his first email to employees on Monday, has talked about three qualities resilience, tenacity, and adaptability which he picked up as a passionate hiker, which would guide him as a leader.

The communication is seen by analysts as an attempt to motivate the employees.

Pallia, who replaced Thierry Delaporte as the CEO over the weekend, has equated the qualities of a hiker to those of an effective leader. He said that traits such as determination, adaptability, patience, and curiosity, are essential for success.

Palia assured the employees that these qualities would serve as guiding principles in his role as CEO. “These very qualities will guide me in my new journey as your CEO,” he said.

“I am dedicated to creating a culture that values every step of our journey – triumphs, setbacks, and everything in between,” the Wipro veteran added.

Underlining the significance of teamwork, Pallia also stressed the importance of collaboration. “In a team, we complement each other, share the load, and ensure we reach the summit together,” he said.

He also thanked Delaporte for his “exceptional leadership and guidance” and the foundation laid by him will be invaluable as the company moves forward.
