Larsen & Toubro has seen a rush of large orders between July and August. The capital goods and engineering major’s order inflow in July and August exceeded Rs 1.4 lakh crore so far. The company has secured a strong stream of large and mega orders across infrastructure, energy, offshore, data centres and transportation in the first 5 months of FY27. 

Some key wins in August include the Rs 10,000-15,000 crore NVIDIA AI Factory project and an over Rs 15,000 crore offshore order in the Middle East.

1. L&T wins large order for Dubai airport people mover system

Latest on August 20, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), in consortium with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), has secured a large order worth Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore to design and build an Automated People Mover (APM) system for Phase 1 of Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.

The MHI-L&T consortium will deliver the APM system on a turnkey basis, covering design, construction, supply, testing, commissioning and operational readiness.

L&T will handle the design, procurement and integration of key infrastructure, including guideways, traction substations, power distribution, signalling and telecom systems, platform screen doors and depot equipment.

Al Maktoum International Airport is being developed as a multi-phase project and, once fully developed, is expected to handle 260 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of freight annually.

2. L&T bags ultra-mega order in Middle East

On August 17, Infrastructure major, L&T bagged a ultra-mega order worth over Rs 15,000 in the Middle East for the development of multiple offshore facilities.

L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore) will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of offshore facilities, the company said in a filing to BSE.

The award of the project reinforces LTEH Offshore’s long-standing presence in the Middle East and reflects the confidence placed by customers in its ability to deliver large and complex offshore projects safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Backed by integrated in-house engineering, project management, procurement, fabrication and installation capabilities and a fleet of vessels, LTEH Offshore has delivered some of the region’s most challenging offshore developments.

3. L&T to build India’s largest NVIDIA B300 AI Factory with Together AI

L&T has secured a mega order worth Rs 10,000-15,000 crore on August 13 to build India’s largest single-cluster AI infrastructure facility, marking its entry into the AI Factory business.

Through its AI and data centre arm Vyoma.AI and subsidiary LTN Compute, L&T will set up an NVIDIA B300-based AI Factory at its Chennai data centre campus in partnership with US-based AI cloud company Together AI.

The facility will house 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs and support large-scale AI training, inference and fine-tuning workloads.

Vyoma’s Chennai campus is a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site, with Phase 1 designed for 250 MW and power infrastructure readiness of 150 MVA.

The AI Factory will combine accelerated computing, high-performance networking, low-latency interconnects and high-throughput storage to power Together AI’s AI-native cloud platform.

4. L&T bags major offshore orders from ONGC

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a batch of major orders valued between Rs 5,000 crore and Rs 10,000 crore from Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for offshore projects on India’s west coast. 

The orders, won by L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore), cover the Pipeline Replacement Project (PRP-X) and the Well Head Platforms Project. 

Under PRP-X, L&T will undertake engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of multiple subsea pipeline segments along with modification works across ONGC’s offshore fields. The second project involves EPCIC work for four well head platforms. 

5. L&T’s July order inflow hit Rs 55,000 crore 

In July as well, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) secured a strong pipeline of orders across its energy, power, infrastructure, metals and manufacturing businesses.

The company won multiple major and mega orders during the month. 

In the energy segment, L&T secured a major EPC order worth in the range of Rs 5,000 to 10,000 crore from Kuwait Oil Company for Jurassic Light Oil export facilities.

L&T also secured a framework cooperation agreement with TenneT, along with Hitachi Energy, covering six projects under TenneT’s 2-GW HVDC offshore wind programme. The projects include transmission infrastructure with a cumulative capacity of 8 GW. This project is worth more than approximately Rs 15,000 crore.

In the power segment, L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions received a Limited Notice to Proceed from NTPC for the main plant package of the 2×800 MW Lara Stage-III thermal power project in Chhattisgarh. This mega order is worth Rs 10,000- 15,000 crore

The company also won orders for 26 high-rise residential towers in Mumbai, multiple international process equipment orders through its Heavy Engineering business, and mega orders from domestic metals and mining companies.

Its Hydrocarbon Onshore business signed a six-year EPC framework agreement with Petroleum Development Oman.

In Q1FY27, L&T’s order inflows rose 14% year-on-year to Rs 1.08 lakh crore. The growth was driven by strong international ordering activity, including large offshore wind awards in Europe, along with sustained private-sector investment in India, particularly in Metals & Minerals and Buildings & Factories. 

International order inflows grew 27%, while domestic inflows increased 1%. The company said its order prospects pipeline for the remaining nine months of FY27 remains healthy at around Rs 15 lakh crore and maintained its full-year order inflow growth guidance of 10-12%.

L&T orderbook at the end of Q1FY27

This order inflow trend continues the series of record wins seen in Q1. L&T’s total order book stood at Rs 7.79 lakh crore as of June 2026, up 27% year-on-year, providing strong revenue visibility. 

Infrastructure & Utilities accounted for 45% of the order book, Energy–Conventional 28% and Energy–Green 19%. International orders made up 52% of the total order book, with the Middle East accounting for 71% of the international portfolio and Europe contributing 14%, reflecting the growing offshore wind business. 

The domestic order book, excluding Realty, stood at Rs 3.54 lakh crore, with the private sector’s share rising to 40% from 27% a year earlier.
