BrandWagon Conclave 2021 Day-1 Highlights:

The second edition of the BrandWagon Conclave 2021, a three-day virtual event between 27-29 October 2021 has been designed to bring together stakeholders from the marketing industry to discuss topics ranging from the needs of the new-age customers to protecting consumer’s privacy in the data-driven world and highlighting the role of analytics in enabling businesses to be proactive, among other key topics. 

Day one of the BrandWagon Conclave saw speakers discuss the changing marketing landscape as well as the consumer behaviour and how brands can remain relevant in a digital first world. “We talk about new-age consumers every five years. This is an evolution that will take place regularly,” Hemant Malik, divisional chief executive, foods division, ITC, said. 

Furthermore, speakers also talked about the need for data security and the need to minimise human intervention. “With the consumers waking up to data protection, trust becomes a key part of the value exchange for brands. Apart from brands using the data judiciously, the security of the data becomes critical and there will need to be a concentrated effort from organisations,” Parth Joshi, CMO, BharatPe, stated. 

According to Ameya Velankar, head, marketing, India and SA, Uber, as data and tech becomes easily accessible to a larger audience, cyber theft and phishing are likely to go up. “As organisations, we have a serious responsibility of how we are using data, what kind of agreements and partnerships we have in terms of third party sharing of data, and protecting anonymity,” he added further.
