Auto Expo 2016 will be organised in Greater Noida and see products from around 100 exhibitors, out of which 65 will be vehicle manufacturers.

The Auto Expo 2016 will be bigger, better and more exciting than its earlier editions as it is expected to attract over 6 lakh visitors over 5 days. The biennial event's Motor Show, to be organised in Greater Noida, will see products from around 100 exhibitors, out of which 65 will be vehicle manufacturers. Now that the event is just two months away, we pick 10 SUVs and crossover that will be showcased at the event.

Datsun Go CrossDatsun Go-Cross

Datsun, Nissan's budget brand, that revealed the GO-Cross concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, might showcase this affordable crossover at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Designed by a dedicated team in Japan, the GO-Cross shares its platform with the GO+ MPV which is already on sale in the country. However, it receives an all-new design with features such has bigger D-cut grille, higher bonnet line, taller body sides, plastic cladding around the body, roof rails, 5-spoke alloy wheels, etc. Powering the GO-Cross might be the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the GO-twins. Though there is no clarity yet if the Crossover will feature a diesel engine, the company has an option to utilise its 1.5-litre dCi powertrain that also powers the Micra.

Long wait for the Maruti Suzuki's first sub-compact SUV, code-named YBA, will finally get over at the 2016 Auto Expo. The company has been extensively testing a sub-4 metre SUV that takes its design cues from the global Vitara compact SUV. Being sub-4 metre in length, it will only accommodate 5 passenger. Upon its launch, it will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and the upcoming Tata Nexon concept-based sub-compact SUV.

Renault Duster 2016 facelift 12016 Renault Duster facelift

Already spied quite a lot of time, the 2016 Renault Duster facelift will make its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. While there will be no changes in the engine options, the 2016 Duster will receive several cosmetic changes both inside and out. Similar to the Brazilian version of the Duster, the India-bound model will feature an all-new single-piece grille, newly-designed bumper, new alloy wheels, redesigned head-lamp cluster and new tail-lights. The vehicle's cabin too will go through some changes with added features. Besides the design changes, the updated Duster will also get a 5-speed automated manual transmission - Easy-R AMT.

Tata NexonTata Nexon production ready

First showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept, the Tata Nexon's production-ready version is likely to make its debut at the upcoming edition of the biennial event in February. Set to take on the likes of Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and Maruti Suzuki YBA-based sub-compact SUV, the Tata Nexon could share its platform with other Tata cars. The Nexon, internally known as Tata Osprey, sub-compact SUV is likely to be made available with a 1.3-litre diesel and an all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine.

Tata HexaTata Hexa

In a bid to rival products like Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster, Tata Motors is working on an-all new SUV - the Hexa - which had made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as a concept. Based on Tata Aria platform, the Hexa has been designed in-house with inputs from Jaguar Land Rover. The Tata Hexa could be powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, variCOR diesel engine that is good for 154bhp and 400Nm. The same powertrain also does duty on the Tata Safari. Expected to be made available in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions, Tata's upcoming SUV could get both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearboxes.

Nissan X-TrailNissan X-Trail

Nissan, the Japanese carmaker, that had discontinued the X-Trail in 2014, is now planning to bring in the all-new model of the SUV to India. First showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Nissan's 7-seater SUV could come as a completely built up unit (CBU) just like the old model. The new-generation Nissan X-Trail is based on the company's CMF platform. Compared to the old car, the Nissan X-Trail will be longer and wider. Power for the new Nissan X-Trail might come from a 1.6-litre diesel unit that is good for 138bhp and 320Nm.

SsangYong TivoliSsangyong Tivoli

Mahindra & Mahindra owned Korean SUV maker SsangYong might showcase its popular compact SUV - the Tivoli - at the upcoming Auto Expo. Based on SsangYong's new design philosophy, the Tivoli looks lot more stylish than most SsangYong vehicles on sale today. The compact SUV has taken its design cues from SsangYong XIV-Adventure and XIV-Air concepts. While the global model features a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, there is no clarity if the same will come to India or not.

Volkswagen India is planning to showcase the much-anticipated Tiguan SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new-generation Volkswagen Tiguan is based on the MQB platform and is 60mm longer, 30mm wider and 33mm lower than the old car. The new model is also more spacious than the old one with 29mm additional rear knee room and bigger boot. Set to take on the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Trailblazer and others in the segment, the Volkswagen's 7-seater SUV could be offered with both the petrol and diesel engine options.

Honda BR-VHonda BR-V

Honda Cars India that doesn't have a compact SUV in its lineup yet, will rival products like the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster with the BR-V. Similar to the Mobilio, the Honda BR-V is based on the extended Brio platform and will accommodate 7 passengers. Built on Honda's 'Active Solid Motion' design philosophy, the Honda's upcoming SUV is claimed to look premium and tough. With 4,455mm length, 1,735mm width and 1,650mm height, the Honda BR-V is bigger than the Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta. Though there is no official word yet about its specifications, we expect it to share its engines with the Mobilio i.e. 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC.

Jaguar F-PaceJaguar F-Pace

Jaguar's first-ever crossover, the F-Pace, made its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The company is planning to bring in the F-Pace to India as well sometime in the second half, though it is expected to make its India debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The global version of the F-Pace is available with four engine options - 2.0-litre petrol & diesel and 3.0-litre petrol & diesel. While the 2.0-litre diesel unit gets both manual and automatic gearboxes, other engines are only available with automatic gearbox.
