Nissan Motors has finally initiated the booking process for its compact MPV, Datsun Go+. The car can be booked with an upfront amount of Rs 11,000, which is fully refundable. Customers can order their Datsun Go+ MPV in period between 3rd January to 14th January. Nissan Motors will launch Datsun Go+ in Indian market during the first half of this month, i.e January, 2015.

The car from exterior looks exactly the copy of the sibling hatchback with same radiator styled grille and angular headlamps. It looks extremely upright along with precisely finished body. It has got conventional revitalizing sides and rear outline that endows it a distinctive look. The wheel arches of this MPV are fitted with a set of standard steel wheels either 13-inch or 14-inch in size. Talking about the dimensions, this new MPV measures 3,995 mm in length, 1635 mm in width and 1490mm in height. The wheelbase of this Datsun Go+ is 2,450 mm and can easily mediate with typical Indian roads as it has got 170mm of ground clearance.

Inside it gets power steering with additional features such as manual central locking, front power windows, mobile docking station as well as HVAC system. Datsun Go+ gets a stylish cabin with a dual tone color scheme which provides an overall sincere look. It comes with plenty of leg space regardless of the fact that it is a compact MPV. Although, the second row of this MPV offers a decent leg space for the passengers but the third row gets congested to some extent.

The MPV comes with a 3-cylinder 1.2 litre, petrol engine which has the capacity to belt out power of 67bhp at 5,000 rpm with a peak torque of 104Nm at 4000 rpm and is paired to 5 speed manual gearbox. The vehicle also offers fuel efficiency of 20.62 km/l. One of the major highlights of the new MPV is its 4.6 metre turning radius that is considered to be a boon in traffic and crowded places. Datun Go+ has the capability to reach out to 100 Kmph speed in 15 to 16 seconds by taking the body weight and stature into consideration. Simultaneously, it can attain the top speed in the range of 140 to 150 Kmph.

As far as the safety is concerned, this new compact MPV features no air bags, no Anti-lock braking system and Electronic Brake Distribution. However, it gets conventional braking system that comes along with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes which are capable enough to offer trustworthy performance. On the other hand, Datsun Go+ also gets a robust suspension system. The front axle is paired with a McPherson Strut type of system jointly with double pivot lower arm while the rear axle is paired with an H-type torsion beam that allows the vehicle to deal with various jerks that originates on roads and thus, keeping it well evenhanded.

The expected price of this Datsun Go+ is believed to be in the range of INR 3.7 lac to INR 4.2 lac. So it would be interesting to observe the after launch effect on the sales figure of its competitors. The Datsun brand resembles affordable transportation and the Datsun GO+ is a product for such families that desire a bigger car for not only work but also leisure. Hope it would be able to compensate the moderate sales of its sibling hatchback.
