THE 2015 Indian Roadmaster has been launched in India and is the most expensive offering from Indian Motorcycles. The name is based on the iconic Roadmaster from the 1940s, but with a totally modern makeover, including ABS, cruise control, remote locking, hard saddle bags, heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips, keyless start and power windshield as standard.
The Horizon Power Windshield offers push-button adjustability to customise airflow, provide weather protection and reduce glare. Adjustable floorboards provide the passenger riding experience and leg room comfort. There are a host of custom options on offer, too, like a high flow air cleaner, a heel shifter, chrome trunk armrest supports for the passenger and extra trunk and saddlebag storage. Powering the 400-kg Roadmaster is the 1,811 cc Thunderstroke III V-Twin engine, which makes almost 139 Nm of torque at 2,600 rpm. The engine is the same unit that powers the Chieftain and Chief range of Indian Motorcycles. Starting at R37 lakh ex-showroom, the Roadmaster will be the most expensive Indian on sale.
