First unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in early February, Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the new Suzuki Access 125 in the country at Rs. 53,887 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2016 Suzuki Access receives all-new styling and a few additional features along with minor mechanical updates. Just so you know, the Suzuki Access was the first product from the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer when it commenced its Indian operations in 2007. Over 9 years of its journey, the scooter has received several updates, but this mid-life facelift is major one till date.
The new Suzuki Access is based on a lighter platform, and features an all-new headlamp with chrome bezel, larger turn indicators, a 3D signature badge, revised apron, new mud guard, larger grab rail and new chrome exhaust. The scooter rides on 5-spoke alloy wheels, and comes equipped with front disc brakes. For shocks absorption, there is telescopic front forks and swing arm type rear suspension system. Other updates include an optional DC socket, single push starter and a new color scheme. The Access 125 is now available in 5 colour options - Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Sonoma Red, Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Matt Fibroin Gray and Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue.
Coming to the engine, the new Suzuki Access is continued to feature the same 125cc, single-cylinder OHC engine, which is now benefited with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology. This power mill is claimed to deliver power worth 8.5bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.2Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. With lighter body-frame and new technical update, the new Access gets more fuel efficient, and offers better performance.
