The country's fastest growing scooter, as Mahindra & Mahindra claims, the Gusto is all set to receive a 125cc version in the country. The company, on Monday, revealed the scooter during a media event in Lavasa, Pune and have confirmed to launch it post Auto Expo 2016 in February.
To be made available in two dual tone colours - Orange + white, Blue + White, black and red, the more powerful version of the Mahindra Gusto derives its power from a 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine that is good for 8.6bhp at 7,000rpm and 10Nm at 5,500rpm. At this power, the Gusto 125 is about .6bhp and 1Nm more powerful than the 110cc model. For people not in the know, the 125cc engine is bored out version of the regular Gusto's powertrain.
Besides new colours and body graphics, there's almost nothing that make the Mahindra Gusto 125 look any different from its 110cc sibling. Similar to the 110cc version, the Gusto 125 too comes in features like height adjustable seat, 12-inch tubeless tyres, telescopic suspension with air springs, guide lamp, remote flip key, headlamps with LED elements and others.
To be available in two variants - DX (119kg) and VX (123kg), the Mahindra Gusto 125cc will be launched after its public debut at the Auto Expo 2016 and will take on against the likes of Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access.
