The Auto Expo 2016 is bigger than ever with more number of products being unveiled, and more people visiting the show. As many as 90 total products were unveiled at the Motor Show this year, out of which over 2 dozen were launched. Here's a list of cars that were launched during the Auto Expo 2016

Fiat Punto Pure

Fiat India re-introduced the pre-facelift version of the Punto Evo hatchback at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Called the 'Punto Pure', this version is available in both petrol and diesel engine options priced between Rs 4.49 lakh - Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre FIRE engine that develops a maximum power of 67bhp at 6,000rpm and 96Nm of torque at 2,5000rpm. Whereas, the diesel model draws its power from a 1.3-litre Multijet motor that produces 75bhp at 4,000rpm and 197Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. Both the powertrains are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Price – Rs 4.49 lakh - Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Jaguar XE

The all-new Jaguar XE was launched at Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) during the Auto Expo 2016. Though, the deliveries will be commenced by the end of this month. Powering the new XE is a 2.0-litre petrol engine that is tuned for two power outputs – 197bhp and 240bhp. While the former develops a peak torque of 320Nm, the latter one offers 340Nm. Transmission duties are performed by an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. On the exterior, the car gets a pronounced grille, swept-back projector headlights, J-shaped LED DRLs, flared wheel arches, wraparound LED tail lights and a few more updates. Inside, it features 8-inch touchscreen for InControl Touch infotainment system, a two-pod instrument cluster with MID display and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel.

Price – Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Audi A8L Security Edition

To rival products like Mercedes-Maybach’s S600 Guard and BMW’s 760 Li High Security, Audi India introduced a bullet and bomb-proof version the A8L sedan at the Auto Expo. Called the Audi A8L Security Edition, the new model comes equipped with a more fuel-efficient 4.0 TFSI bi-turbo engine, armored case in the trunk with an emergency battery, special aluminium alloy wheels, selective door unlock, intercom communication system and several hi-tech safety and security features. The vehicle uses hot-formed steel armour and aramide fabric. Powering the A8L Security Edition is a 4.0-litre Bi-turbo engine that puts out 435bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. It has a maximum payload capacity of 600kgs, and offers a top speed of 210kmph.

New Audi R8 V10 Plus

The new-generation Audi R8 was also launched at the Auto Expo 2016. The new model of the sportscar is available only in the top-ranging R8 V10 Plus grade that is priced at Rs. 2.47 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). For people not in the know, the vehicle broke cover in 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show. Powering the new Audi R8 is a 5.2-litre V10 engine that has been borrowed from the Lamborghini Huracan. This powertrain generates a whooping 601.6bhp, and comes equipped with Quattro AWD system and a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds, while maintaining a top-speed of 330kmph. With lots of carbon fiber reinforced plastics and aluminum components, the new R8 not only weighs lighter than the previous model, but it’s 40% more torsionally rigid.

New BMW 7 Series

BMW rolled out the new 7 Series at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo that took place in Greater Noida. Available in five variants, the 2016 BMW 7 Series’s price ranges between Rs. 1.11 crores – Rs. 1.55 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the CLAR platform (refereed as ‘Carbon Core technology), the new 7 Series uses lots of aluminium, steel and Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). This also makes it 130kgs lighter, more robust and rigid than the previous model. As far as the features are concerned, it comes equipped with iDrive 5.0 infotainment system, inductive smartphone charging, power adjustable rear seats, etc. The India-spec model is available with two engine options – a 450bhp, 4.4-litre TwinPower turbo V8 petrol and a 265bhp, 3.0-litre TwinPower turbo inline-6 diesel.
