Lamborghini, the Italian luxury supercar maker, today launched the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 in India at a price of Rs 2.99 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The same car also made its debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show recently.
The Lamborghini Hurcan LP580-2 looks more or less similar to the regular Huracan model save for the new front bumper that helps develop more downforce than the regular version, thus helping the front end of the car remain planted at high speeds. While there is very little difference in design, the most significant change has come in the form of the rear-wheel drive layout offered to the Huracan LP580-2. With RWD, the stability control system sends power to the rear-wheels thus making it an even more fun-to-drive car around corners.
There's no difference in the powertrain as well, as it continues to feature the same 5.2-litre, naturally-aspirated V10 engine that powers the regular Hurcan. Though, the company has detuned the engine for the RWD-version to churn out around 30bhp less power than the regular model. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 580bhp and a peak torque of 540Nm.
Since the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 comes with a rear-wheel drive (RWD) layout, it weighs around 33kg less than its AWD sibling. The company claims that the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 touches 100kmph mark from standstill in 3.4 seconds, thus is 0.2 seconds slower than the LP610-4.
The company has also tuned suspension and steering systems along with a slightly-revised stability control system.
