Besides new twin LED headlamps and LED fog lights, the 2016 BMW 3 Series facelift looks more or less similar to the discontinued model. BMW India today launched the updated 3 Series sedan in the country in four design schemes - Prestige, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport. The new BMW 3 Series is priced between Rs 35.90 lakh - Rs 44.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated BMW 3 Series will continue to be produced at BMW Plant Chennai. Besides new twin LED headlamps and LED fog lights, the 2016 BMW 3 Series facelift looks more or less similar to the discontinued model. The updated model also gets new BMW Navigation System Professional. The company claims to have tuned the vehicle's 2.0-litre TwinPower turbo engine for more power. As against the pre-facelift version's 184bhp and 380Nm, the updated model's engine churns out a maximum power output of 190bhp and a peak torque of 400Nm. This engine helps the 2016 BMW 3 Series achieve 100kmph mark from standstill in 7.2 seconds at an electronically limited top-speed of 230Kmph. The company is planning to bring in the petrol version of the BMW 3 Series later this year. With the powerful BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, the new BMW 320d remains sporty in every situation on the road. The combination of common rail direct injection and a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry ensures that the new BMW 320d delivers an excellent output of 140 kW / 190 hp. High torque of 400 Nm is available at just 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. The new BMW 320d accelerates to 100 km / hr in 7.2 seconds with the ability to achieve a top speed of 230 km / hr.
