The all new 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition is set for launch in India. The Lancer Evo is probably the most popular product from Mitsubishi and the automaker would be banking on the same for its success here. The groundwork for the car is based on the existing GSR model which has received some praiseworthy reviews in the past. As far as updates in the feature department are concerned, they will be provided based on well known ‘Final Edition’. From the Indian perspective, the only other car by the automaker after Lancer Evo, will be Mitsubishi Pajero.
Some of the more notable features about Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition would be black painted aluminium roof which blends in nicely with the shining black bumper. There are plenty of color schemes to choose from for the customers including Octane Blue, Mercury Grey, Rally Red and Pearl White. The design theme for the exterior of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition is quite elegant with dark chrome-coated grille with the outside vents garnering a more shiny black color. The dark chrome and glossy black combination carries forward to the alloy wheels and the bumper as well.
Moving inside the cabin, the Final Edition holds a black headliner, sun visor and pillars. There is a numbered plaque on the centre console which is more than likely going to remain a part of the exclusive edition only. The black headliner does wonders working as a part of the overall ensemble with the black sports seat delivering an elegant yet sporty feel. The combination of slight red inserts with black color also stands out which is quite evident from the gear knob, floor mats, console lids and steering wheels.
As far as engine is concerned, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final Edition will feature a 2-litre turbo four GSR engine that has been customized to generate more efficient numbers. The vehicle delivers 303bhp power at 6500rpm whereas torque carved out is 414Nm at 4000rpm. Compared to the standard variant of the car, these figures are certainly significantly higher with the former generating 291bhp power and 407Nm torque. The engine of Mitsubishi Lancer Final Edition Evo works in synchronization with the 5-speed transmission system which works with the all-wheel-drive setup.
The suspension system is quite strong as the car absorbs shocks from the toughest terrains with the all-wheel control working in sync with Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs available on all four corners. The handling characteristic of the car is further enhanced with the presence of the two-piece Brembo brake rotors in the front making sure that drivers can tackle sharp corners or intense traffic conditions with high level of accuracy.
Being an exclusive edition, it is no surprise that only 1600 units will be available for sale of the Mitsubishi Lancer Final Edition Evo in the U.S with each of them being priced at $37,995 which is approximately Rs. 24,80,406.
