Volkswagen CARS
Volkswagen India is a fully owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. It was founded in 2007 and has been producing cars in the hatchback, compact sedan, executive sedan, crossover and the SUV segments. The company has a plant in Chakan, Maharashtra with an annual capacity of producing two lakh vehicles. It currently manufactures the Polo, Ameo, Vento, Cross Polo, Polo GT TSI, Polo GT TDI, Jetta, GTI and the Beetle. In addition to the plant that manufactures two lakh units, the company also has an engine assembly facility that was built in 2015. The facility has the capacity of manufacturing 98,000 engines.
