The Tata Tigor is a compact sedan offering by Tata Motors in India. It is powered by one petrol engine and one diesel engine. Both engines are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The compact sedan is based on the company's Impact Design Language and the Tigor is underpinned by the Tata Tiago's platform. Features on the higher variants include a cooled glovebox, ConnectNext infotainment system, projector headlamps, 15 inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels and automatic climate control. However, standard kit which is available in all versions of the Tata Tigor includes LED tail lamps, multi drive modes, electric power steering and dual tone interiors. Safety features offered in the Tata Tigor include dual front airbags, ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and CSC (Cornering Stability Control). The Tata Tigor is available in four variants, XE (base), XT, XZ and XZ (O), the last one being the top end trim.

The Tata Tigor measures 3,992 mm in height, 1,677 mm in width, 1,537 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The boot volume of the compact sedan is the largest in its segment at 419 litres and the minimum turning radius of the Tata Tigor is 5.1 metres. It is available in six exterior colour options, Copper Dazzle, Berry Red, Striker Blue, Platinum Silver, Pearlscent White and Espresso Brown.
The Tata Tigor compact sedan has an interior layout similar to the Tata Tiago and the higher variants of the car are offered with similar levels of equipment. All variants of the Tata Tigor are equipped with a manual air conditioner, while the higher XT and XZ version also get a Harman infotainment system with four speakers (XT only) and two tweeters (XZ including four speakers). This system also has steering mounted audio and phone controls with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connnectivity. The top end XZ (O) version is available with a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system which has voice recognition as well as automatic climate control.
Powering the Tata Tigor are two engine options, one petrol unit and one diesel motor. Both these engines have been borrowed from the Tata Tiago. The petrol engine generates 84 hp of power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The diesel unit produces 69 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque from 1,800 rpm to 3,000 rpm. Both engines have been tuned for the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
The diesel and petrol engines of the Tata Tigor compact sedan are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The transmission has also been borrowed from the Tata Tiago and like its hatchback sibling, the Tata Tigor is available with 'City' and 'Eco' driving modes. No variant of the Tata Tigor is currently available with an automatic or AMT gearbox.
While the base XE version is offered only with an engine immobiliser, the higher XT version also has ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and Tata's Cornering Stability Control. The higher XZ and top end XZ(O) versions have dual front airbags as well. Reverse parking sensors are also available from the XT variant while the top end trim also has a reverse parking camera.
Rated fuel efficiency of the Tata Tigor petrol variants is 20.3 kmpl and the diesel trims have a mileage figure of 24.37 kmpl. These figures are impressive when compared to its segment.
