The Hyundai Tucson measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,660 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. The Hyundai Tucson SUV is available in five exterior colour options, Pure White, Sleek Silver, Star Dust, Phantom Black and Wine Red. While the lower versions are offered with a projector headlamp unit, the top end 2WD AT GLS version is available with a Dual Barrel LED headlamp with stating bending lamps or cornering lamps. The base version is offered with a 17 inch alloy wheel, however, the two higher versions are available with 18 inch alloy wheels.
The Hyundai Tucson is offered with electrically foldable, adjustable and heated ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), automatic as well as escort headlamps, puddle lamps, cruise control, cooled glovebox and many other features as standard across its variant range. Handsfree electric tailgate operation, electric parking brake, different driving modes are available on the higher variants of the Hyundai Tucson. That said, an 8 inch infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, steering mounted audio, phone and bluetooth controls is standard across all versions.
The Hyundai Tucson is powered by two engine options, a 2.0 litre Nu petrol engine and a 2.0 litre R diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 153 hp of power at 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The diesel engine produces 182 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm to 2,750 rpm. Both engines have been tuned to offer the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
Both engines of the Hyundai Tucson are offered with a 6 speed manual transmissions and a 6 speed automatic gearbox. The higher versions of the Hyundai Tucson are also offered with different driving modes for different driving situations. Gear changes on both the transmissions available with the petrol and diesel engine options have smooth gear changes in the manual and low shift shocks in the automatic.
In terms of safety, the Hyundai Tucson offers dual front airbags and ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) as standard. The higher versions are also offered with Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Brake Assist, Hill-start Assist Control, Downhill Brake Control, side and curtain airbags.
The claimed fuel efficiency of the Hyundai Tucson is 18.42 kmpl for the manual diesel versions, 16.38 kmpl for the automatic diesel variants, 13.03 kmpl for the manual petrol variants and 12.95 kmpl for the automatic petrol variants. The diesel engine mileage figures are the best in its segment.
