The new Hyundai Kona has been launched in India finally as India’s first all electric SUV. Hyundai Kona arrives to India through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and the company aims to sell close to 1,000 units of the Kona in India during the first year. Hyundai also confirmed that it will sell the Kona SUV in select cities initially that will include the top 10 metros. In the international markets, the Hyundai Kona is available with an all-electric powertrain along with a gasoline engine option as well. For the time being, only the electric variant of the Kona will be on sale in India. The Hyundai Kona electric has been launched in India in a single variant only at a price of Rs 25.3 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

With this, the electric SUV can do a sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.7 seconds. The vehicle comes with a 39.2 kWh lithium ion battery that offers an ARAI claimed 452 km range per single full charge. The battery pack can be charged to 100 percent in just 57 min using a 50kW DC fast charger. While charging through a standard AC source, the total time required to completely charge the battery will be 6 hr 10 min.
