The Honda City measures 4,440 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, 1,495 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The boot space is 510 litres and the fuel tank capacity is 40 litres. Higher variants of the Honda City are offered with LED Headlamps and LED fog lamps while LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) are available as standard. The LED tail lamp unit is available only on the ZX trim. In addition, the ZX version also has 16 inch alloy wheels as opposed to 15 inch alloys or steel rims.
The Honda City is offered in a dual tone dashboard colour option wherein the higher variants get Honda’s exclusive DIGIPAD infotainment system. This system uses MirrorLink technology and integrates most smartphone functions onto the 7 inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Higher variants, in addition to the infotainment system, also feature steering mounted audio controls as well as a telescopic steering. All variants do get tilt steering. The automatic touch panel air conditioning system is available from the SV variants.
The Honda City is powered by two engines, a 1,497 i VTEC petrol and a 1,498 i DTEC diesel. The petrol generates 117 hp power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm torque at 4,600 rpm, while the diesel produces 98 hp at 3,600 and 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm. Both engine offer the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency
The Honda City has three transmission options a 5-speed manual as well as a CVT automatic transmission for the petrol variants and a 6 speed unit for the diesel. There is no option of an automatic transmission for the diesel engine powered versions.
In terms of safety, the Honda City has an ACE body structure, ABS (Anti lock Braking), dual front airbags and ISOFIX child seat restraint system as standard. In addition, higher variants of the Honda City also have side and curtain airbags.
Certified mileage figures of the Honda City are 17.4 kmpl for the petrol manual variants while the same figure stands at 18 km/l for the CVT versions. For the diesel trims, the fuel efficiency figures are 25.6 kmpl for the SV and V variants while the mileage for the VX and ZX versions is 25.1 kmpl.
