Datsun GO Plus

Datsun GO Plus is a family car that has a 5+2 seating arrangement. It is based on the GO hatchback and while it has the same wheelbase, the overall length has increased to allow for extra room on the inside. The engine powering the GO Plus is also the same as the GO hatchback. It is a 1.2-litre petrol unit that delivers 67hp when paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and 77hp with the CVT. However, the torque figures are the same at 104Nm for both transmissions. The interior layout remains largely the same as well. There is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, speed sensing auto door lock, power windows and a semi-digital MID. Prices for the GO Plus MPV start at Rs 4.26 lakh and go up to Rs 7 lakh for the top variant. All the prices are ex-showroom.

    The Datsun GO Plus is a large budget MPV that is based on the GO hatchback. As such, the two vehicles share the same design language. Things like the design of the headlamps, tail lamps, grille and alloys are similar. The GO Plus has a wheelbase of 2,450mm which is the same as the GO hatchback. However, the GO Plus has a longer overall length of 3,995 mm, that allows for more room on the inside.

    The Datsun GO Plus has a grey and black interior colour theme with fabric upholstery for all the variants. This is in contrast to the GO hatchback that has an all-black interior. The rest of the equipment remains the same across the two vehicles. There is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The third row has two seats that can be used to seat two children or folded to free up some room in the luggage compartment. With all rows up, the boot space is 48 litres and with the third row folded it is 347 litres.

    The GO Plus comes powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that is also seen in the Datsun GO. Power and torque outputs remain the same as well. The manual version of the car develops 67hp while the CVT version generates 77hp. Torque output 104Nm for both transmission options. A small difference can be observed in the rpm at which this output is achieved, the manual achieves it at 4000rpm and the CVT at 4400rpm.

    The Datsun GO Plus can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while a CVT gearbox is offered in the higher T & T(O) variants. The CVT option is not only easier to drive in traffic but also produces more power compared to the manual variant.
