The Chevrolet Beat is a hatchback offered by the American carmaker in India. It is powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.0 litre diesel engine, both are mated to manual transmissions only. The diesel engine was jointly developed between Fiat and General Motors and is claimed to be the most fuel efficient engine in its segment. The suspension setup is a McPherson Strut upfront and a Compund Crank Type setup at the rear. All variants of the Chevrolet Beat come with 14 inch steel rims and alloy wheels are optional on all trims. The minimum turning radius of the hatchback is 4.85 metres.

The minumum turning radius of the Chevrolet Beat is 4.85 metres and all variants of the hatchback are offered with rear spoiler, body coloured bumpers as well as ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) and UV resistant glasses.

    The Chevrolet Beat’s cabin is offered with an all-black interior colour option with silver accents at the dashboard, steering wheel and instrument cluster.     The Chevrolet Beat is powered by a 1,199 cc petrol engine and a 936 cc diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 77 hp of power at 6,200 rpm and 106.5 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The diesel engine produces 56 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 142.5 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Both engines have been tuned for the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency.

    Both, the diesel engine and the petrol engine are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. There is no option of an AMT or an automatic gearbox on any of the versions. However, gear changes are smooth and have been tuned for the best balance between fuel efficiency and performance.

    The Chevrolet Beat is offered with impact proof front and rear bumpers and driver seat belt reminder as standard. The higher versions also get ABS (Anti lock Braking System) and a driver airbag, although there isn’t a front passenger airbag.
