The Chevrolet Beat measures 3,640 mm in length, 1,595 mm in width, 1,520 mm in height (without roof rails) and has a wheelbase of 2,375 mm. The minumum turning radius of the Chevrolet Beat is 4.85 metres and all variants of the hatchback are offered with rear spoiler, body coloured bumpers as well as ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) and UV resistant glasses.
The Chevrolet Beat’s cabin is offered with an all-black interior colour option with silver accents at the dashboard, steering wheel and instrument cluster. The instrument cluster has a digital trip meter, digital tachometer and a number of other indications as well as warnings. The higher variants are also offered with a 60:40 split folding rear bench.
The Chevrolet Beat is powered by a 1,199 cc petrol engine and a 936 cc diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 77 hp of power at 6,200 rpm and 106.5 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The diesel engine produces 56 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 142.5 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Both engines have been tuned for the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
Both, the diesel engine and the petrol engine are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. There is no option of an AMT or an automatic gearbox on any of the versions. However, gear changes are smooth and have been tuned for the best balance between fuel efficiency and performance.
The Chevrolet Beat is offered with impact proof front and rear bumpers and driver seat belt reminder as standard. The higher versions also get ABS (Anti lock Braking System) and a driver airbag, although there isn’t a front passenger airbag.
