BMW 5 Series
The BMW 5 Series is a luxury sedan in BMW’s model range. The sedan comes in three engine options, one petrol and two diesel engines. The BMW petrol comes in only one variant, 520i Luxury Line whereas the BMW diesel has four variants 520d Prestige Plus, 520d Luxury Line, 520d M Sport and 530d M Sport. In terms of safety, the BMW 5 Series comes with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), CBC (Cornering Brake Control), ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with brake assist and airbags. Key features include an 8 speed Steptronic automatic transmission, launch control function, rough road suspension package, automatic start/stop and park distance control.

BMW 5 Series Engine
The BMW 5 Series has three engine options, a 1,997cc petrol, a 1,995 cc diesel and a 2,993 cc diesel. The petrol engine generates 184 hp of power at 5,000 rpm and 270 Nm of torque between 1,250 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The 1,995 cc diesel engine generates 190 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,750 to 2,500 rpm whereas the 2,993 cc diesel engine generates 258 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 560 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm. All engines are tuned for the best balance between fuel efficiency and performance.

The BMW 5 Series is equipped with an 8 speed Steptronic automatic transmission. However, the 530d M Sport comes with sport automatic transmission. The transmission offers smooth gear changes and feature well tuned ratios that offers a good balance between fuel efficiency and performance.
