The petrol engine generates 184 hp of power at 5,000 rpm and 270 Nm of torque between 1,250 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The 1,995 cc diesel engine generates 190 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,750 to 2,500 rpm whereas the 2,993 cc diesel engine generates 258 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 560 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm. All engines are tuned for the best balance between fuel efficiency and performance.
The BMW 5 Series is equipped with an 8 speed Steptronic automatic transmission. However, the 530d M Sport comes with sport automatic transmission. The transmission offers smooth gear changes and feature well tuned ratios that offers a good balance between fuel efficiency and performance.
