Yamaha Alpha is one of the Japanese brand's offering in the commuter scooter market. It comes with the same 113cc “Blue Core” engine as found in other scooters from the company. It produces 7.2 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.1 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm providing smooth acceleration and good fuel efficiency among the competition. The design is standard, however, it comes with some interesting graphics. There are telescopic forks at the front along with an optional disc brake and it gets 21 litres of under seat storage.

    Yamaha Alpha

    Alpha is designed as a family scooter, however the styling promises to appeal to customers in all age groups. The styling is modest, yet includes some edgy hints giving it a mildly sporty appeal. The handlebar mounted headlamp gives a good throw of light while the front body panel houses left-right indicators. The rear complements the front with roundish curves and graphics. The overall build quality and fit-n-finish are satisfactory.

    The base version of Alpha comes with drum brakes at both ends measuring at 130mm. However, another version of the scooter has been fitted with a front disc brake. Clearly, disc brake provides better braking performance and higher safety. Also, both tyres are tubeless.

    Alpha delivers competitive fuel economy in its class. Also, the 5.2-litre fuel tank capacity is pretty generous in its segment.
