  • Yamaha MT-15 Design and Build

    Yamaha MT-15

The Yamaha MT-15 is a pure looker to say the least. The biggest visual highlight of the motorcycle is the unique bug eye shaped LED headlamp. The neatly chiselled fuel tank, sharp tank shrouds and the exposed rear, all combine together in making the MT-15 one sporty looking motorcycle. The MT-15 takes design and styling cues from its elder sibling, the MT-09 which is a good thing as the latter is one of the meanest looking high end streetfighters out in the market. The bike gets neon coloured pinstripes on the alloy wheels that is another visual highlight.

  • Yamaha MT-15 Riding Ergonomics

    Yamaha MT-15

One main reason behind the development of the Yamaha MT-15 was to offer the customers a more relaxed and easy going motorcycle while offering the same engine performance as the R15 V3.0. With that being said, the MT-15 offers an upright and more comfy riding position than its fully faired counterpart. For this reason, you can ride this motorcycle everyday without getting tired and the bike is easy to nimble through traffic. The quality of the switchgear is also decent, just want you would expect from Yamaha.

  • Yamaha MT-15 Engine

    Yamaha MT-15

Powering the BS6 Yamaha MT-15 is 155cc, the single-cylinder engine that delivers power and torque output of 18.5hp and 13.9Nm, respectively. These numbers are a shade down than what the BS4 engine used to make.

  • Yamaha MT-15 Transmission

    Yamaha MT-15

The engine on the Yamaha MT-15 is mated to a six-speed transmission. The gearbox has a one-down, five-up shifting pattern like rest of the motorcycles. The gearshifts are smooth and precise and you will hardly find any false neutrals.

  • Yamaha MT-15 Braking and Safety

Braking duties on the Yamaha MT-15 are taken care of with the help of a 282mm disc brake up front along with a 220mm disc brake at the rear. The bike gets a single-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) which means that the safety equipment works on the front wheel only. Furthermore, the bike gets an all LED headlamp that offers better illumination than a regular halogen unit.

  • Yamaha MT-15 Mileage

Yamaha MT-15 comes with a 10-litre fuel tank. The claimed fuel mileage of the BS6 engine hasn't been declared by the company.
