  • Indian Scout Design and Build

    Indian Scout

Scout is one of the most important motorcycles in the Indian line-up and has an uncanny resemblance to the original Scout. The design is compact and quite minimalistic in nature with everything tightly packed giving a playful identity to the motorcycle. The build quality is fantastic and lives up to the high standards of the company. With a round headlamp, streamlined yet angular fuel tank and fleet-sided fenders, the Scout successfully gives homage to its roots from 1920. The sportier element is further highlighted by the lightweight aluminium frame which neatly houses the radiator and the single rider seat. The split-dual exhaust system completes the look.

  • Indian Scout Riding Ergonomics

    Indian Scout

As a cruiser, Scout offers an upright riding position with the feet-forward stance for relaxed highway cruising. However, in order to justify its sporty roots, Scout has a generous lean angle of 31 degrees which both the amateur and experienced riders can appreciate. It is, nonetheless, a very comfortable motorcycle to ride in the city and on wide open roads. Handling is neutral and is made possible due to the aluminium frame, a generous amount of 4.7 inches of travel at the front telescopic forks and 16-inch wheels.

  • Indian Scout Engine

    Indian Scout

Scout is powered by a modern liquid cooled v-twin engine which displaces 1131cc and produces a very healthy 100 BHP of power and 97.7 NM of torque at 5,900 RPM. This, combined with electronic closed-loop fuel injection system, ensures class leading acceleration and the overall performance at all speeds. The engine mostly remains smooth throughout the rev-range thanks to the counter-balancer shaft which reduces engine vibrations to a great extent.

  • Indian Scout Transmission

    Indian Scout

The Scout is Indian’s performance cruiser, and for this reason, it comes equipped with a fantastic 6-speed manual gearbox. The gears are well-spaced and beautifully utilize the engine’s linear power-curve for a relaxed city and highway riding. The torque is well-distributed as well and doesn’t require frequent gear changes. Overall, the clutch and gear shifting are smooth and positive feedback during up and down changes.

  • Indian Scout Braking and Safety

Irrespective of the kind of a motorcycle a company makes, braking is one area where no compromises are made. The Scout sports a competitive braking package with a single 298mm disc at both wheels to bring down the motorcycle to a safe stop. ABS is also on offer which further increases the safety aspect. And then there’s a pair of tubeless tyres which ensures that they do not deflate in the case of a puncture.

  • Indian Scout Mileage

Scout has a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres which is a decent number. Ridden calmly, the Scout shall deliver competitive fuel efficiency in its segment.
