Duet lies in the middle of the Pleasure and the Maestro Edge in the scooter lineup from Hero MotoCorp. Powered by the same 110.9cc engine as the one in the Maestro Edge, the Duet produces the same amount of power and torque figures with 8.31 BHP and 8.30 NM of torque. Features are half-way there as well with the Duet getting the boot light and the mobile charging point in the under seat storage, external fuel filler and the digital plus analogue speedo console. What it doesn’t get are the bigger 12-inch front wheel, LED tail light and the immobiliser.

    Hero MotoCorp Duet

    Duet is the third scooter from Hero MotoCorp and falls in the middle of the Pleasure and the Maestro Edge. The design is mostly plain and simple, although, it tries to be modern with the slightly angular tail section and the curvy front end. The build quality is nice and there are unnecessary gaps anywhere. The front looks dependable due to the telescopic suspension for better damping and overall stability. The premium factor comes mostly from the instrument panel which has a digital and an analogue read out.

    Duet provides a comfortable riding stance where the rider sits upright for easy commuting in city traffic. It offers fantastic space for resting both feet on the floorboard while the reach to the handlebar is also quite near. Riding quality is further enhanced by telescopic forks at the front. The seat is well-padded and is quite comfortable to sit on.

    Duet is powered by the same 110.9cc engine which does the duty in Maestro Edge and produces the same output with figures 8.31 BHP at 8,000 RPM and 8.30 NM of torque at 6,500 RPM. Company claimed top speed is 85 kmph which is on par with its rivals. Overall good performance is also ensured by a maintenance free battery and a paper filter.

    Hero MotoCorp Duet

    Duet offers gearless transmission, known as Variomatic, and is simply operated by twisting the throttle. Since there is no clutch, the lever on the left side of the handlebar operates the rear brake while the one on the right side controls the front brake as usual.

    Duet comes with drum brakes at both ends with Integrated Braking System which means that both brakes come into effect when only one brake is applied. This is done generate a balanced braking effect. However, an optional disc brake at the front would have made things better.

    Duet is capable of providing one of the fuel efficient rides in its class. Real world mileage is well above 60 kmpl.
