Multistrada is the most versatile motorcycle from Ducati. It is an adventure-sport-tourer with a high performing Testastretta engine churning out 157.8 BHP and 136 NM of torque from its 1198.4cc L-twin liquid-cooled unit. The design is quite curvy with a beak-like front fairing which houses the twin-headlight unit. There’s a tall windscreen for wind protection and a relatively long-travel suspension. In essence, though, Multistrada is still a sportbike with tight geometry and 17-inch wheels that keep the handling on the sharper side. Equipped with cutting-edge technology like Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) which includes Bosch cornering ABS and Traction Control to name a few, the Multistrada is a serious motorcycle.

    Ducati Multistrada

    Ducati is known to build some of the most stunning motorcycles with impeccable build quality. The Multistrada is no exception in this regard. The design is curvy with the front end interestingly resembling a beak. The whole assembly holds a twin-headlight unit along with a tall windshield. The front fairing seamlessly extends to the sides and turns into the tail section from there. The rider is of a decent size, bucket-like and not too wide enabling shorter riders to comfortably reach the ground. The instrument panel is also fully digital displaying all the information on an LCD screen.

    Multistrada is powered by a revolutionary testastretta 1198.4cc L-twin engine with DVT (Desmodromic Valve Timing) which is a form of Variable Valve Timing technology. It allows the opening and closing of valves to be controlled more dynamically depending on the engine speed for a more consistent performance across the entire rev-range. Power figures are impressive for a sport-tourer – 157.8 BHP (160 PS) of power at 9,500 RPM and 136 NM of torque at 7,500 RPM. Dual spark plugs also ensure complete combustion of the air/fuel mixture.

    Multistrada comes with the industry-standard 6-speed manual gearbox to utilize all the performance coming out from that 1198.4cc L-twin engine. Hydraulically operated clutch with slipper action further ensures light pull and prevents the rear wheel from hopping and locking up momentarily under aggressive down-shifting.

    Ducati is not known to underequip their motorcycles and so the Multistrada comes with top-rate braking system from Brembo. At the front, there’s a pair of 320mm discs with radially mounted 4-piston callipers along with a 265mm single disc with 2-piston callipers at the back. Furthermore, these brakes get cornering ABS from Bosch which is a top braking system today.
