The Renault Triber is a new sub-4-metre 7-seat model which rivals B-segment hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS and the Ford Figo. The Triber comes with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, roof rails, 14-inch alloy wheels and an SUV like exterior styling. The Triber is priced at Rs 4.95 – 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

Powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, borrowed from the Clio and Dacia Sandero, the Triber has 72hp and 96Nm of torque available at its disposal. The engine is currently BS4 compliant only and it is only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Triber is a sub-four-metre vehicle being 3990mm long, 1739mm wide, 1643mm tall. The wheelbase on the Triber measures at 2,636mm and boasts a ground clearance of 182mm. Renault claims that the cabin length of the Triber is 2,900mm long allowing for a spacious passenger compartment.

The Renault Triber features a black and grey, dual-tone interior with silver accents. The entire dash and cockpit features only a few buttons. The main one being the start-stop button, and the switchgear for climate control, with a few additional buttons for the door lock and unlock, and the rear defogger as well. Renault has also equipped the Triber with rear AC vents.

The Triber’s cabin will be equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment which comes integrated with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Push-to-Talk and Video Playback on the screen as well. For safety reasons, the video playback feature will only be available when the vehicle is stationary.

The driver will get a digital LED instrument cluster as standard which displays the vehicle's speed in the centre along with additional information like the odometer, distance to empty, and more. This display has two dial on either side of the display, the left shows the engine RPMs while the one on the right displays the fuel and engine temperature gauge.

The Triber comes with a cooled glove box and boasts 31-litres of storage space with cubby holes positioned around the cabin. The neat feature about the Triber can be found on the centre console which has a cooled compartment that also comes with an option to regulate the compartment’s fan speed to tailor the amount of cooling.

The Triber is a sub-4 metre vehicle that offers 7-seats in a Two / Three / Two layout. With all the seats in place, the Triber has a boot space of 84-litres.

Renault has designed the Triber to offer modular seating options. What Renault is calling “EASYFIX” seats, this allows the third row of seats completely from the vehicle to allow for added luggage space. With the third row removed, the Triber is capable of 625 litres of boot space. Which can be further increased by folding down the second row of seats.

The Triber will comply will the safety regulations and offer dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, over-speed warning as standard. The RXZ trim will do one better with four airbags.
