There are still some days before the Goods and Services Tax (GST) is made effective, but the automotive industry has already started extending the benefits that the customers will be eligible for when GST is applicable. We reported on how car brands have been giving out GST discounts, and now the two-wheeler sector too is getting onboard with such price cuts. The following motorcycles have received pre-GST benefits.
Bajaj Pulsar RS200: The Pulsar RS200 is powered by a 199.5cc fuel injected and liquid-cooled engine that produces 24.5 bhp and 18.6 Nm of torque. The RS200 is available in three colours. It is priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). A dealer in Noida has confirmed to us that the GST discount on the RS200 is Rs 2700.
Bajaj Pulsar 220: Powered by a 220cc air-cooled engine with a carburetor fuel system, the Pulsar 220 produces 21 bhp and 19 Nm of torque. It is available in three colours. In Delhi, the motorcycle is priced at Rs 1.04 lakh (ex-showroom). The GST benefit on the 220 is Rs 2000, as per a Bajaj dealer in Noida, UP.
Bajaj Avenger 220: The Avenger 220 is a cruiser by Bajaj that comes with a 220cc liquid-cooled engine with carburetor fuel system. It produces 19 bhp and 17.5 Nm of torque. The Avenger 220 is available in two colours. It is priced at Rs 99,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The GST benefit would bring its price down by Rs 1800. It is notable that Bajaj have specified that the discounts will go upto Rs 4500 depending on the model and state of sale. While there is no word on whether the discount is applicable on the Dominar, prospective customers should check with local dealers.
