Volkswagen has launched the new Tiguan in India at a starting price of Rs 27.68 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The new Tiguan is available with a choice of two variants, namely; Comfortline and Highline with a diesel engine.
The Tiguan is based on the company's MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten) platform that helps the SUV to reduce up to 50 kg. Powering the new Volkswagen Tiguan is a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine that generates 141 hp of power and 340Nm of torque. The power is channelised to the wheels through a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission with paddle shifters and is sent to the Volkswagen's 4Motion AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.
The Tiguan's exterior features 18-inch wheels, illuminated front scuff plates, chrome finished bumpers as well as a panoramic sunroof. Volkswagen has also equipped the SUV with ambient lighting and keyless entry with a push-button start. The interior features an infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has 8-speakers as a standard equipment.
A three-zone automatic air conditioning with rear controls, electrically adjustable front seats with driver memory function, automatic headlamp and cruise control among others features that are being offered as standard. Volkswagen Tiguan has also received Hill Descent Control (HDC), reverse parking camera, ABS (Antilock Braking System) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control), dual front, front-side and curtain airbags as well as TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) as part of the safety package.
