South Korean car maker, Hyundai has launched the sixth-generation Elantra in India at an introductory price of Rs 12.99 L (ex-showroom, Delhi).The car maker has worked on making the new Elantra more appealing on the design front and loaded it with new features.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra is available in five trims in both petrol and diesel variants - S, SX,SX AT, SX(O) and SX(O)AT. The new Elantra in available in five paint schemes- Marina Blue, Polar White, Sleek Silver, Phantom Black, Passion Red.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra is powered by a 2.0 L,4-cylinder, dual VTVT petrol engine and a 1.6 L, CRDi motor. The petrol engine produces 150hp of power and 190 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel unit churns out 128 hp of power and 265 Nm of torque. The engines are mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The new sedan has received an exterior makeover and some highlights include chrome front grille, HID projector lamps with LED DRLs in SX O, SX O AT variants, while the lower variants, namely; S,SX SX AT, are equipped with halogen headlamps with projector lamps. The company has also worked on the rear of the car. The rear gets split LED tail lamps, reverse parking sensors and has a boot space capacity of 458L. An electric sunroof, shark fin antenna and chrome outside door handles has also made its way to the newly launched Elantra. The sedan rides on 16-inch alloy wheels. The 2016 Hyundai Elantra measures 4,160mm in length, 1,800mm in width, 1,450 in height and has a wheelbase of 2,700mm.
The interiors are loaded with a host of features. An 8-inch infotainment system with Apple car play and Android Auto along with Bluetooth connectivity and dual-zone climate have been added to the higher trims. For the driver's convenience , the South Korean automaker has equipped the car with two drive modes - Eco and Sport along with cruise control. The top-end variants of the car get 10-way electronically adjustable driver seats and front seat cooling system.
In terms of safety, the 2016 Elantra is loaded with four airbags, ABS and EBD as standard in all variants. The high-end trim, on the other hand, features six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
Hyundai India has launched the all new Elantra at an introductory price of Rs. 12.99 lakh - Rs. 17.99 lakh for the petrol model. The diesel model is priced at Rs. 14.99 lakh - Rs 19.90 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Besides this, the car manufacturer is also providing a 3 years warranty with roadside assistance, map care update, 30,000km free maintenance and 3 home visits for better customer experience.
