Tata Tigor variants explained with price and features

All versions of Tigor are offered with 'City' and 'Eco' driving modes and these modes alter the engine mapping and throttle response as per the driving conditions

Tata Motors has introduced a new compact sedan today in India, the Tigor, which has a starting price tag of Rs 4.70 lakh for the petrol engine option and Rs 5.60 lakh for the Tigor that is powered by a diesel motor, both prices ex-showroom, Delhi. The Tigor has been launched in four variants, XE, XT, XZ and XZ(O) with six exterior colour options, Copper Dazzle, Berry Red, Striker Blue, Platinum Silver, Pearlscent White and Espresso Brown. The 1.2 litre petrol engine produces 84 hp of power and 114 Nm of torque, while 1.05 litre three cylinder diesel engine generates 70 hp of power and 140 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and there is no automatic transmission available in any of the variants as of now, however, all versions are offered with 'City' and 'Eco' driving modes. These modes alter the engine mapping and throttle response as per the driving conditions. Here is a breakup of all the variants and what you get in each one of them.


Tata Tigor XE

The Tigor XE variant is the base variant in the which is priced at Rs 4.70 lakh for the petrol, while the diesel trim retails at Rs 5.60 lakh, both ex-showroom, Delhi. The base version for its price tag gets a number of features that are not available in a compact sedan at this price point. The features included are as follows

Body coloured front and rear bumpers
High mounted LED stop lamp
LED tail lamps

Manual air-conditioning system
Chrome insert on the gear knob
Bottle as well as cup holders in the front console and door pockets

Engine Immobiliser (No ABS or Airbags available in this variant)


Tata Tigor XT

The second variant in the Tigor's line up costs Rs 5.41 lakh with the petrol engine and Rs 6.31 lakh which is available with the diesel engine option. In addition to the base XE trim, the Tata Tigor XT has ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) as well as Tata's Corner Braking control

Tata Tigor XZ

In addition to the features available in the Tigor XE and XT, the XZ which is to the is second to last variant in the list, here is a list of the additions available on it

The Tata Tigor XZ petrol has a price tag of Rs 5.90 lakh while the diesel trim retails at Rs 6.80 lakh , both ex-showroom, Delhi.

Tata Tigor XZ(O)

The XZ(O) is the top-end variant in the Tigor line up and sells at a price of Rs 6.19 lakh for petrol trim. The diesel motor is offered at a price of Rs 7.09 lakh,ex-showroom, Delhi. Following are the additional features that you get in the fully loaded variants of the compact sedan.

Other features such as ABS with EBD, dual front airbags are already present in the lower versions of the Tata Tigor and the aforementioned features in the XZ (O) variant are additional. The price range of the Tata Tigor undercuts the segment leader, Maruti Suzuki DZire by almost Rs 70,000 which does make it a more value for money proposition, however, the Tigor isn't available with an automatic transmission on any engine option. The DZire, however, is available with automatic gearboxes for both, petrol and diesel engine options.
