The much-awaited Tata Tiago hatchback is all set to be launched in the Indian market today. Bookings for the car began on March 10, 2016 across the country. With Maruti Celerio and Hyundai I10 in its sight, the Tiago is estimated to be priced between Rs 3.50 lakh – Rs 5.50 lakh. Based on the updated XO platform, the Tata Tiago has been designed with inputs from Tata’s Pune, Italy and UK studio, and looks sportier than most Tata hatchbacks on sale today.
The Tiago is based on Tata's all-new IMPACT (Immediate IMPACT at first sight, Lasting IMPACT over time”) design philosophy. It is claimed to offer well-proportioned cabin-to-body ratio, and best-in-class size.

Moving to the engine, the Tata Tiago hatchback will come with two all-new engine options - a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder VCTi Revotron petrol and a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder Revotorq diesel. While the gasoline engine delivers 83.8bhp of maximum power with 114Nm of peak torque, the latter one is good for 96.04bhp and 140Nm. The Tata Tiago will also get first-in-class Multi-drive modes. While there will be a 5-speed manual gearbox initially, an AMT-equipped model will also be launched at a later stage.
With several segment-first features and safety equipment, the Tiago promises comfort and convenience. Features such as Connectnext Infotainment system by Harman, steering mounted controls, individual rear headrests, chromed air conditioning vents, turn indicators on wing mirrors, 60:40 split folding rear seats, and electronically adjustable ORVMs are offered only on the higher trims of the hatchback.
