Tata has revealed the Downtown Urban Edition of Hexa before its official launch could happen. An upclass version of the Hexa, the Downtown Urban Edition comes with a new paint job, some new gadgets and other cosmetic changes. Tata is calling the new colour Urban Bronze, which will be the only paint scheme available for this edition. Along with a 'Downtown' badge at the rear, the Hexa Urban Edition will come with a chrome pack, which will include chrome finishes around the grill, headlamps, on the rear view mirrors and others. The Hexa will remain unchanged under the bonnet, but on the inside, the new edition will have tan seat covers and some additional tech gadgets. The wheels are new too on the Downtown Edition - R16 diamond cut alloys available in black and silver grey.
Passengers at the back will have ways to remain entertained in the Hexa Downtown Urban Edition, which has been fitted with 10.1-inch Blaupunkt Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) Player. Only available in a few other cars, the new edition of the Hexa will have a wireless charger.
Tata has equipped this edition of the Hexa with Heads-Up Display (HUD) with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The LED HUD will display speed limits alerts, battery voltage indication and the TPMS info.
The Hexa may be a little tall for some and hence Tata has provided a side step on the Downton Edition. Also, there will be a new set of carpets in every row.
The Hexa Downtown is available in two options – Absolute and Indulge packs. The XE, XM and XMA variants with the Absolute pack will come with Downtown badging, chrome pack, seat covers, wireless charger, carpet set and car care kit. The XT and XTA variants with the Absolute pack will have Downtown badging, chrome pack, wireless charger, side steps, carpet set and car care kit.
The XE, XM and XMA variants with the Indulge pack will come with Downtown badging, chrome pack, seat covers, wireless charger, alloy wheels, side steps, carpet set and car care kit. The XT and XTA variants with the Indulge pack will have Downtown badging, chrome pack, wireless charger, entertainment player at the rear, heads-up display, side steps, carpet set and car care kit.
Tata Hexa Downtown will be powered by the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that produces 150 hp and 320 Nm in the XE variant, and 156 hp and 400 Nm in all other trims. While the engine is mated to a five-speed manual in the XE; the XM and XT trims get a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The top-spec XT also gets an optional four-wheel drive.
The prices for the Downtown Urban Edition have not been announced yet, but they will vary based on the variant chosen. A standard Hexa is priced at Rs 11.72 lakh for the base trim and go up to Rs 17.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top variant.
