The Altroz iTurbo will retail alongside the standard naturally-aspirated petrol and diesel variants and will be the fastest Tata hatchback yet. Not to overwhelm the market with high pricing, Tata Motors will be launching the Altroz iTurbo with a manual transmission, to begin with. Tata Motors today unveiled the new Altroz iTurbo in India with a promise to launch it on 22nd January, however, the pre-bookings have been opened at Rs 11,000 starting today. The iTurbo variant of the Altroz is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol turbocharged engine that makes 110 hp and 140 Nm of torque and is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The hatchback also boasts new features like Xpress Cool which promises 70 percent faster cooling and connected car features including geo-fencing. The iRA will be able to understand up to 70 commands in 'Hinglish', including those for map usage.
Prices for the Tata Altroz iTurbo petrol are expected to start at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
Pre-bookings for the Tata Altroz iTurbo have been opened at Rs 11,000.

In terms of features, the Altroz iTurbo offers automatic headlamps along with rain-sensing wipers, automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a wearable key, and a push start-stop button among many.

The Altroz iTurbo is expected to come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with climate control, a 7-inch colour multi-info display, and cruise control. The Altroz iTurbo would rival the likes of the Hyundai i20 Turbo and the Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI. Some dealerships have started the pre-launch booking process for the Tata Altroz iTurbo for an amount of Rs 5,000. Although, Tata Motors is yet to officially announce the bookings to open.

Tata Altroz iTurbo is likely to be offered in the higher trim levels. We expect the Altroz iTurbo to be offered between the XM to the XZ (O) variants with a slight premium pricing over the current petrol model. Thus, features offered on the Altroz iTurbo would be similar to the current line up.
It may share the powertrain with the Nexon but the Altroz is lighter and aimed towards offering efficiency. The engine would be paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, a seven-speed DCT automatic option can be expected soon.
At its heart, the Altroz Turbo would feature the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine from the Nexon. The engine develops 120 hp and 170 Nm of torque in the sub-compact SUV. Although, this engine is likely to be tuned down to around 110 hp for the hatchback.
