The facelift version of the Octavia is on its way to India and will be launched by the end of August this year. Not just this, Skoda has lined up two more launches in India this year – Rapid Monte Carlo and the Kodiaq. The Octavia RS will be available in two petrol and diesel engine options for the first time ever in India. The petrol version will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol unit that produces 230 hp paired to a six-speed DSG. The car will feature an aggressive looking body kit, blacked-out trim bits and larger alloy wheels. It will also sport LED headlamps with DRLs (daytime running lights), tail lamps, fog lamps, steel exhaust tips and a tailgate spoiler.
On the inside, the Octavia RS is likely to get a 9.2-inch infotainment system that would support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Safety will be covered by nine airbags, ESP and a park-assist system.
Before the Octavia RS hits the showrooms, the Rapid Monte Carlo will be launched in the country. The India-spec car will get a red exterior and an all-black interior, grille and wing mirrors, along with 16-inch alloy wheels and a tailgate spoiler, also in black.
Under the bonnet, the Rapid is expected to carry forward the same 110hp 1.5-litre engine that is also found on the Ameo. It will also have an option of a 1.6-litre petrol unit. Both engines will be paired with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard with the option of an automatic gearbox.
On the inside, the Monte Carlo will come with faux-carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, a flat-bottom steering wheel, mobile holder and upholstery with red stitching on the gear knob and aluminium sports pedals.
Skoda's new SUV Kodiaq has officially also been unveiled. First showcased in Berlin last year, the Kodiaq has been listed on the Czech manufacturer's website in India and bookings have been opened at Rs 1 lakh, as per confirmation provided by a dealer in Delhi.
