We reported earlier that Skoda will be launching three models this year, namely the Rapid Monte Carlo, Octavia RS and Kodiaq. Out of the three, the company launched the Monte Carlo Edition last week and the new Octavia RS will hit the showrooms on 30th September, 2017 followed by the Kodiaq in the last quarter of this calendar year. However, due to heavy rains in Mumbai, the company will now launch the car on 1st September, i.e; tomorrow. The Octavia RS is expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom. Powering the new Skoda Octavia Rs is a 2.0-litre TSI engine that would likely produce 230 hp of maximum power and will be paired to a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. A diesel variant may also be introduced eventually.
The Octavia RS has already been listed on the company's official India website and booking s have been opened for the upcoming sports sedan. Recently, the Octavia RS was spotted testing in the country with new features inside and out. The Octavia RS gets an aggressive design language and features a chrome surround front grille as well as new 17-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers. It is also equipped with LED headlamps, DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), LED tail lamps and fog lamps. The car manufacturer has also added steel exhaust tips and a tailgate spoiler.
The cabin of the Octavia RS is expected to feature a 9.2-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity options. It will come with black leather seats with contrast red stitching, ambient lighting system along with safety features such as nine airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and park-assist like rear parking sensors and an auto-parking system.
