The upcoming Renault Kaptur SUV has been spied testing on Indian roads and is speculated to be launched in mid 2017. The spied Renault Kaptur is completely camouflaged and is codenamed HHA. The Kaptur is based on the Duster's M0 platform and will be longer than the latter by 18 mm.
The Kaptur SUV will be positioned above the Duster and will feature projector headlamps, horizontally placed large front grille and a sporty bumper. The car will also get silver skid plates and newly-designed alloy wheels. At the rear, Renault will equip the car with a roof spoiler, C-shaped tail lamps and a sloping roofline.
Although the interior images are not available, we expect the Renault Kaptur to get an all-black interior theme and feature a touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control and multi-function steering wheel. The cruise control and dual front airbags are expected to be offered on the higher trims. The interiors will accommodate five occupants and the car will have a boot capacity of 387 litres with 60:40 split rear seats to create more space.
The Renault Kaptur is likely to get the same 1.5 litre dCi four-cylinder diesel engine that also powers the Duster. The engine produces 108 hp of power and 245 Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed manual and an AMT unit. The company might also offer an AWD (All wheel drive) variant of the Kaptur SUV. There is also a possibility of petrol variants, which are expected to get a 1.6 litre SCe engine.
