Renault Kaptur interior spied, expected price, specs, features and competitors

Renault Kaptur will get a dual-tone dashboard with body coloured inserts on the A/C vents and around the infotainment system.

Renault Kaptur has been making news since the past few months as it has been spied testing in the country multiple times. Now a set of new images by have come up revealing the interior of the new vehicle. According to the images, the dashboard of the new Renault Kaptur will get a dual-tone black and beige colour combination and body-coloured or contrast outlining on the infotainment system and air-conditioning vents. The car manufacturer has also equipped the crossover with a twin-pod digital instrument cluster and a multifunction steering wheel with chrome or silver finishing. The infotainment system is expected to get a 7-inch MediaNav system compatible with Bluetooth, USB and AUX. Other features will include a MID (Multi-info Display) unit, automatic climate control, leather wrapped steering wheel and chrome finished inside door handles.

The new Renault Kaptur is based on the Duster's M0 platform and will be positioned above the Duster in the portfolio. This platform is expected to be highly localised in the country that will help the carmaker to price the upcoming crossover competitively. The Kaptur will also feature projector headlamps with C-shaped LED DRL's (Daytime Running Lamps), large front grille and alloy wheels. The car will get ABS and dual airbags as standard safety equipment.

The Renault Kaptur will be powered by a 1.6 litre petrol and 1.5 diesel engine. The petrol engine will produce 103 hp of power and 148 Nm of torque, while the diesel variants will be available in two states of tunes – 85hp and 110 hp. The upcoming Kaptur will also get AWD (All Wheel Drive) with locking centre differential and will be mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.

The Kaptur is expected to be available in a 7-seat configuration and is likely to be priced between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom. The crossover is likely to be launched in India during the festive season and will compete directly with the Hyundai Creta.
