For those of you who drooled a little when the all-new Porsche 911 GT3 broke cover at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, here’s some great news! Porsche will have the all-new GT3 priced at Rs. 2.2 crores in India by October 9, 2018.In fact orders for the 911 GT3 have been open from the time it was unveiled globally, October ninth is just when Porsche intends to start the first wave of deliveries. These The new GT3 which is even more exciting because Porsche has bought back the manual to the iconic rear-engine sports car. Not to mention the traditional 4-litre six-cylinder boxer engine which somehow now makes 493 bhp of power and a 540 Nm of torque. I mean there has to be a point when we reconsider the whole part about calling Porsche a sports car! I mean 500 bhp is supercar country and Porsche is pushing that line very very thin. The Porsche is available with the 7-speed PDK flappy paddle automatic or the classic 6-speed metal gear gates. Speaking of supercar country, the Porsche gets from rest to a hundred kmph in just 3.4 seconds. Although slowed down by mechanical gates, the manual does lose half a second on this time hitting the ton just shy of 4 seconds. Although the manual does top out at 320 kmph compared to the 7-speed autos 318 kmph.

And although the new GT3 gets only very subtle cosmetic changes, it is still a completely revised chassis and it also gets rear axle steering and has been sent on a diet. At the price, however, the GT3 will be going up against some really fierce opponents in the form of the Mercedes AMG GT-R, and the Nissan GT-R as well as the Audi R8. To put in perspective just how aggressive Porsche’s GT3 really is here’s an Auto Express video of the previous-gen Porsche GT3 vs the GT-R:
