Porsche 911 GT3 debuts in India; Priced at Rs 2.19 crore

Expanding its 911 line-up, sportscar manufacturer Porsche has launched its 911 GT3 in India at Rs 2.31 crore (Ex-India). The car was first globally unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show and comes to India soon after the commencement of bookings. Porsche 911 GT3 is a track focused sportscar and rivals the likes of Audi R8, Mercedes-AMG GT R and Nissan GT-R. In India, Porsche currently sells four Porsche 911 Carrera models which includes, 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera cabriolet and 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Porsche also sells four 911 Turbo models and launched the new track focused sports car launched today is the first 911 GT3 model in its portfolio.

Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 4-litre six-cylinder engine that sheds a power of 500 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The car measures 4,562 mm in length, has a width of 1,852 mm and stands tall at 1,271 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,457 mm. Porsche claims a top-speed of 320 km/h and does 0-100 in 3.9 seconds.

Launching the Porsche 911 GT3, Pawan Shetty, Director of Porsche India commented "Motorsport is an integral part of Porsche's DNA; it is racing heritage which gives us the edge in delivering true sports cars with exceptional everyday usability, and no more so is that apparent than with the 911 range. Porsche's iconic model has been developed on racetracks over five decades and we are immensely proud to announce the arrival of out first GT3 in India today."

The race-spec version of Porsche 911 - GT3 gets an aggressive stance, sharp sloping roof and Porsche's family design language. The biggest difference than the regular 911 Carrera is the addition of a massive rear wing that helps with downforce, which is required for a sportscar like Porsche 911 GT3. Porsche also claims that the chassis has been reworked with rear-axle steering and use of aluminum has helped to reduce the overall weight of the car and improved driving dynamics.

Porsche is offering range of options to choose from interiors, right from interiors finished in leather to carbon fibre and also a choice of seats. One can choose bucket seats or electrically adjustable seats as per the requirement. It also gets auto climate control, Bose sound system with 8-inch touchscreen infotainment that supports Apple Carplay.
