Nissan Motor India is planning to launch the facelift version of Terrano on 27th March 2017. The SUV in its updated avatar will get updates in the interior and exteriors. The new Terrano is likely to get major updates such as LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), redesigned LED tail lamps and redesigned bumpers.
Under the bonnet, the facelifted Terrano will feature the same engine, a 1.6 litre petrol engine and a1.5 litre diesel engine. The 1.6 litre petrol engine generates 103 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5 litre diesel engine is offered in two states of tunes, one delivers 83 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed transmission while the other produces 109 hp of power and 248 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual and AMT transmission.
Inside the cabin, the new Terrano is expected to receive a host of updates such as a new touchscreen infotainment system, an automatic climate control and an optional all-black interior. In terms of safety, the SUV might get ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) as and dual front airbags as a standard part of the equipment.
Nissan launched the Terrano AMT version last year at a price of Rs 13.75 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The AMT variant is available only in the top end XVD model of the Terrano. The facelifted Nissan Terrano is expected to launch at a price of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. When launched, the new Terrano will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and the Ford EcoSport.
