Nissan India has launched the Fashion Edition of its hatchback Micra at a price tag of Rs 6.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The limited edition Micra will come with style upgrades on the inside and out. The styling elements have been inspired by fashion brand United Colors of Benetton, providing Italian fashion sensibilities and an array of colour combinations. The core of the limited edition Micra revolves around colours and styling. Launched ahead of the festive season, the Micra Fashion Edition comes with sporty decals, bold stripes and Benetton signature headrests. It will also feature NissanConnect, Nissan India’s integrated information and communication platform that allows an enhanced driving experience through the users’ smartphone. The limited edition will be available at all Nissan dealerships across India during the festive season.
Mechanically, Nissan Micra will continue to be offered with 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. Petrol variants are mated to a CVT gearbox. Nissan India claims a mileage of 19.34 kmpl on the petrol variants and 23.08 kmpl on diesel variants.
The limited edition car will have designer body graphics, black wheel covers with orange inserts and designer stripes on the rear view mirrors. On the inside, it comes with an orange colour scheme with Piano Black finish and a 6.2-inch touchscreen for audio and navigation.
This is not the first time a car maker has partnered with a designer or a fashion firm. In 2015, Renault Duster got a fashion maker over from Manish Arora. Renault Duster featured the use of vibrant colours and traditional design patterns.
