The new Honda Civic has appeared on the company's official website for India. The car was showcased in India recently at Auto Expo 2018 and it was one of the prime attractions at Honda's pavilion. The company's website further confirms that the new Honda Civic will be launched in India during FY2018-19. Honda has not revealed any specs of the India-bound model but they should not differ significantly with the European figures that have been announced recently. The most prominent highlight of the new 2018 Honda Civic is its sporty, low slung design language that offers it a distinct character. All thanks to this, the new generation model distinguishes itself well from the previous one. Globally, the new Honda Civic is being offered in three body styles viz hatchback, coupe and sedan and India will get the sedan version. The new Honda Civic gets LED headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) and C-shape LED tail lamp that give it a lot of character.

Another prominent highlight in the design is the notchback look under which the C-pillar of the car merges neatly into the tail gate. On the inside, the new Honda Civic gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with automatic climate control. The car will also get height adjustable driver seat and electrically operated mirrors.
Speaking of powertrain, the Honda Civic globally gets 1.0-litre three-cylinder i-VTEC along with 1.5-litre iVTEC and 2.0-litre iVTEC four-cylinder petrol engines. Besides, there is also a 1.6-litre i-iDTEC diesel on offer in the European markets. The company offers a six-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission with the car. The company's website confirms that the Civic will get a diesel engine in India alongside the petrol mills. This is the first time that Honda Civic will be introduced in India with a diesel engine.
The new Honda Civic will rival against the likes of Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis in the Indian car market. Expect the price of the car to stay somewhere close to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). More details to be revealed in the coming days.
