The 2018 Audi Q5 is all set to be launched in India in January next year. The SUV will hit Indian markets after the second week of the month once its media ride concludes. In terms of visuals, the new Audi Q5 has similarities to the model currently on sale. However, the 2018 model will arrive as a completely new car and it will now be based on a new MLB platform in order ensure weight reduction. To be specific, the new 2018 Audi Q5 will be close to 100 kgs lighter than the outgoing model. The next generation 2018 Audi Q5 gets a large single frame chrome grille up front that has familiar looks with the unit that comes in its elder sibling Q7. Just like other Audi models, this one will also get LED headlamps with the company's signature matrix LED headlamps. The front end of the car also receives a new bumper that makes the car look bolder than before.
The 2018 Audi Q5 will offer some interesting features such as heads-up display and Audi virtual cockpit to enrich your driving experience. The cabin also comes with ambient lighting and Audi MMI infotainment system with an 8.3-inch screen. The conventional instrument cluster has given way to the 12.3-inch screen on the virtual cockpit. Wireless charging and three-way climate control are additional features that step up the convenience factor of the car. The new Audi Q5 also features Predictive Efficiency Assist that can link itself to the car's navigation system and adjust the speed of the car according to the traffic conditions.
The new 2018 Audi Q5 sources its power from a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine and it is the same motor that powers the current generation model. Besides this, the company will most likely also offer a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine. Transmission duties are taken care of with a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox.
