Toyota Kirloskar India will launch the facelifted Corolla Altis tomorrow and the updated car will receive cosmetic changes in exterior and some new convenience features.The company has also updated it official page with the new model, however, the company has not yet started the booking of the facelifted Corolla Altis officially. Some dealerships though are accepting bookings for the new Corolla Altis. The facelifted Corolla Altis was already revealed last year in Thailand and its design is based on the Toyota’s new ‘Under Priority and Keen Look’design language. The car will be available in four trims in both manual and automatic versions, namely, J, G, GL and VL.
The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis facelifted will be based on Toyota's new design language and will feature LED headlamps, LED front fog lamps, revised front grille and a 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant selected. At the rear, the car gets a LED tail lamp with fog lamps and will receive an improved suspension set-up. The car might equipped with a 'Sport Drive Mode' to provide better acceleration.
The 2017 Corolla Altis will be powered by the same 1.8 litre petrol engine that produces 138 hp of power and 1.4 litre diesel engine that develops 87 hp. The petrol unit will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed CVT-i (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox, while the diesel variants will be mated to a 6-speed transmission.
2017 Toyota Corolla Altis will get a major update in interiors in the form of new features. The sedan features Smart Entry with Push Start/Stop, 8 Way Power Driver Seat with Lumbar Support, Rear Reading Lamp & Rear Sun Shade, cruise control, rear power socket, rain sensing wipers and audio and steering controls. The infotainment system has been upgraded to a 7- inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as T connect navigation system.
In terms of safety, the new Corolla Altis will dual SRS airbags, ABS( Anti-lock braking system) with EBD(Electronic brakeforce distribution), brake assist, vehicle stability control and rear camera with display. The sedan frame is made of a GOA( Global Outstanding Assessment), which consist of the impact absorbing body structure and high integrity cabin at the time of collision.
The facelifted Toyota Corolla Altis will be priced at a slight premium than the current generation Corolla Altis and is likely to carry a starting price tag of around Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. When launched, the new Corolla Altis will compete with the likes of the new Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Chevrolet Cruze in its segment.
