Skoda Auto India has launched its new Octavia RS in India at a starting price of Rs 24.62 lakh, ex-showroom. The new Skoda Octavia RS stands out as a sportier model of the sedan as the car gets aggressive stance in terms of its styling. Based on the Volkswagen’s MQB platform Octavia RS features a chrome surround front grille, LED headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), LED tail lamps as well as fog lamps. The car is available with a body kit that consists of new bumpers, a new grille with 'vRS' badge, boot-mounted consists, rear diffuser, dual exhausts and new 17-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers.

The new Skoda Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine that produces 228 hp of maximum power and 350Nm of torque. The unit is paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and the power is sent to its front wheels. Skoda claims that the Octavia RS takes 6.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph with a top speed of 250 kmph.

Inside the cabin, the car gets a 9.2-inch infotainment system, which gets connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The interior also boasts of an all-black theme with Alcantara leather seats and gear knob with contrast red stitching, ambient lighting system and the 'RS' badging. The safety equipment, on the other hand, consist of nine airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and park-assist like rear parking sensors and an auto-parking system. The Octavia RS is available in four body colours, namely; Red, Blue, White and Steel Grey.
