New Maruti Suzuki Swift will launch at Auto Expo 2018 in February

Maruti Suzuki Swift is perhaps the most anticipated car launch of this year and as the drum roll gets louder, the latest in the chapter is the fact that the new Swift has started arriving at the dealerships even before the launch slated for Auto Expo 2018 in February. The pre-launch bookings of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift were opened on 18 January for a token amount of as low as Rs 11,000, and even with a couple of weeks still left for its official launch, the waiting period has been extended to about two months already. So, if you plan to bring home a new Maruti Suzuki Swift, book it now and you will receive yours in the next two months. However, one must also bear in mind that the waiting period may vary from one dealer to another. Expect the new Swift to be priced about Rs 30,000-40,0000 more than the current model which retails at a starting price of Rs 4.91 lakh (ex-showroom).

“We will take the excitement to a new height with the all-new Swift. The all-new Swift with its distinctive design, advanced technology, uplifting performance and enduring driver experience will bring disruption in the premium hatchback segment. In its newest avatar, the Swift undergoes a bold transformation to meet the aspiration of the young and ever-changing customer. We are delighted to open bookings for the all-new Swift and look forward to a grand launch at the Auto Expo 2018,” R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) at Maruti Suzuki India, said.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift has indeed undergone 'a bold transformation' and looks a lot more premium and modern than before. While the underpinning platform and design has been completely revamped, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift still retains the recognisable Swift appeal.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift will be based on the fifth generation Heartect platform, which will offer more strength, along with providing more agility to the whole package improving the power-to-weight ratio. The all-new Swift is wider, compact and with longer wheelbase allowing more cabin space, headroom as well as luggage space.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift will come with a K12 VVT engine and DDiS 190 engine. These engines have been tuned for better performance, coupled with balanced suspensions for better ride and comfort. The all-new Swift is more aerodynamic with improvement in wind resistance (coefficient of drag) leading to more fuel efficient and better performance. It will now be available with Maruti Suzuki’s Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology in both petrol and diesel trims.

Maruti Suzuki Swift will be available in a total of eight variants, four of which will be petrol and four diesel. There will be six colour options on offer, of which Prime Lucent Orange is brand new.
