Jaguar India has launched the new XF, starting from Rs 49.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The XF is the first Jaguar car in India to be equipped with the 2.0 L Ingenium diesel engine. The Ingenium range of engines was first introduced in the country on the XE but the model only has a petrol Ingenium engine. The new turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine develops about 178 hp and is up to 20 kg lighter than a similar engine of the earlier generation. Being an Ingenium engine, this unit features all-aluminium construction. The new XF also offers a petrol engine for those looking for extra performance. The Ingenium four-cylinder 2.0 L petrol unit offers about 238 hp, putting it on par with some V6 engines.
Jaguar has in the recent past been at the forefront of using aluminium for lightweight and the XF continues to benefit from this know-how. The XF is inspired by the F-Type and uses a lightweight aluminum chassis, which reduces the overall weight of the vehicle by up to 190 kg, compared to its predecessor despite having 28 % more structural stiffness. The new XF features adaptive LED headlamps with the trademark 'J' Blade daytime running light (DRL), while the LED tail lights have been inspired from the F-Type.
Jaguar is known for offering theatrics inside the cabin, the rising drive selector in present models being one of them. On the same line, the XF is also equipped with Dramatic Start-Up Sequence. Herein, once the front door is opened, the start button starts to pulse with a heartbeat creating an emotional connection with the customer. There's also Mood Lighting in an offer, which can be configured in up to 10 colours. The new XF is more spacious than the previous model as it offers additional 24 mm of knee-room, while leg-room has been increased by 15 mm. In order to give a cleaner and airy feel to the cabin, there are a minimal number of buttons inside.
Other new technologies and features of the new Jaguar XF include Infotainment InControl system. The InControl Touch is available on the Pure and Prestige trims, while the InControl Touch Pro is seen on the Portfolio variant. The Meridian Sound Systems features a 380 W Sound System with 11 speakers, while the digital 825 W Surround Sound System has 17 speakers. The All Surface Progress Control Unique (ASPC) technology in the new XF helps the car to cope with low-traction situations. It is basically a low-speed cruise control system, wherein once the cruise control is activated, the driver can set a speed between 3.6 km/h and 30 km/h. The ASPC is standard across all models with automatic transmission.
The new Jaguar XF is available in five variants and is priced as follows:
Jaguar XF 2.0 diesel Pure: Rs 49.50 lakh
Jaguar XF 2.0 diesel Prestige: Rs 55.90 lakh
Jaguar XF 2.0 diesel Portfolio: Rs 62.10 lakh
