Hyundai Motor India is planning to re-introduce the Elite i20 hatchback with a number of cosmetic changes for 2017. According to Team-bhp, the brochure of the 2017 Elite i20 has surfaced which suggests it will get minor interior and exterior updates on each variant. Currently, the Elite i20 is available in Era, Magna, Sports and the top-end Asta variants that are being offered with a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.4 litre diesel motor.
For 2017, the Elite i20 Magna and the lower variant, Era will get matt finished black C-pillar, metal finished inside door handles, semi-fabric seats & folding rear seat bench. For safety, it will get dual front airbags, day-night IRVM and central locking.
The Magna Variant will eventually be sold as Magna Executive and it will get updates such as full wheel covers, chrome radiator grille, blackened out C-pillar and body coloured ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) and door handles.Inside the cabin, the new Hyundai Elite i20 will get a centre armrest with storage, audio system with 4 speakers, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear power windows and a cooled glove box.
The third variant in Elite i20 line-up is Sportz which gets turn indicators on ORVMs, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, front fog lamp, rear defogger with timer and headlamp escort function. Other features in the hatchback include a rear parcel tray, front room lamp with sunglass holder, keyless entry and ABS or Anti-lock Braking System. The audio system also gets Bluetooth connectivity and rear tweeters.
The top-end Asta trim will also get rear parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels, tilt and telescopic steering wheel as well as FATC (Fully Automatic Temperature Control) with cluster ioniser. This variant will also have a 7-inch touchscreen with audio, video, navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link connectivity.
The company will bring the Asta variant of Elite i20 with Style Package which includes dual-tone exterior colour options such as black roof with white and red body colours, black interiors with orange inserts,16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and adjustable rear headrests. However, the Asta (O) will not receive any changes it will continue to come with same features.
The prices of 2017 Elite i20 are expected to start from Rs 5.74 lakh to Rs 7.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi for the petrol trims. The diesel variants are expected to be priced between Rs 6.95 lakh and Rs 9.20 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. In addition, Elite i20 Magna will also available in 1.4 litre petrol engine with automatic transmission and it should be available at a price of Rs 9.25 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
